Our Holiday Concert took place on December 6 and 7 and was well received by enthusiastic audiences. There’s something magical about the holiday season that stirs a deep sense of wonder in us all. It is a time when even the most skeptical hearts soften, and the childlike thrill of surprise and delight returns. Through our songs we unwrapped the holidays we expressed tales of old in traditional modern styles. Wonder is not just for the young, it is for everyone willing to pause and feel it.

Who Is Acappellago?
Acappellago, founded in 2002, is a volunteer a cappella choir that has fun singing all around the western suburbs of Chicago in our signature Hawaiian shirts. How did we come to be named Acappellago, and why Hawaiian shirts? Our name, “Acappellago,” comes from the words “archipelago,” a collection of islands, and “a cappella,” the type of non-accompanied music we sing. The islands represent an “escape,” a place to sit back, relax, and enjoy life. As Acappellago, our mission is to invite you to join us as we “escape” to another place and time through the joys of a cappella music.
Our Annual Spring and Winter formal concerts provide an “escape” through a themed and diverse music repertoire. In our “off-season,” you can follow our National Anthem Tour as we perform for the Annual Aurora Pride Parade and various local professional and semi-professional sports teams. We have fun singing for the Kane County Cougars, Schaumburg Boomers, and Chicago Steel to name a few.
Acappellago is passionate about music and our communities and believes in fostering the rich music environment that we have all come to cherish. Our efforts to support local composers who align with this passion and belief involve offering stipends, contests, and commissions for recent music created by college students and community residents.
